Oxygenation Levels

Your body needs a high level of oxygen circulating within the blood for your cells to function correctly.

A pulse oximeter quickly and accurately measures the level of oxygen saturation of your blood, as well as your pulse rate.

About oxygenation levels

What is a healthy blood oxygenation level?
We need high oxygenation levels to feel healthy and energetic. Lower oxygenation levels are commonly associated with poor health, lower pH and acidity, chronic illness and even cancer.

Oxygenation levels should be above 95%. If they fall below 95%, you may experience symptoms such as fatigue and headaches. Levels under 90% are considered very low and may be a symptom of serious long-term illness such as chronic fatigue syndrome.

How do you test blood oxygenation levels?
Blood oxygenation levels can be measured during your consultation with a pulse oximeter, which is a small fingertip sensor. The non-invasive fingertip sensor rests on the end of your fingertip for less than one minute. The test is painless and can be safely used for adults and children.

What is the cost of a blood oxygenation level test?
The cost to measure your blood oxygenation levels during your consultation is $5, which includes an individualised program to improve your oxygenation levels if they are low.

What happens once we’ve tested my blood oxygenation levels?
If your oxygenation levels are identified as low, there are specific measures we can implement together to improve your reading. It’s important to have adequate levels of oxygen circulating through the blood so every cell can function correctly. Improving a low reading is essential to ensure your ongoing good health and well being.
