There are many underlying biochemical causes which may be associated with or contribute to symptoms experienced by children on the spectrum.

Food sensitivities and intolerances.
Neurotransmitter activity, including excessive excitotoxic neurotransmitters such as glutamate.

Methylation cycle deficiencies or defects.
